Occupation Author

Robert Whitaker worked as a journalist with a focus on medical matters before becoming increasingly interested in the efficacy (or lack of it) of drug based mental health treatment. In 1998 he started writing about mental health, publishing in 2001 Mad In America: Bad Science, Bad Medicine, and The Enduring Mistreatment of the Mentally Ill, which i called a 'controversial' book by Wikipedia<ref>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mad_in_America</ref>.
