David Korten
Born 1937
Known for Writing When Corporations Rule the World

After an MBA and PhD in business, Korten set up business schools in low income countries in Asia and Africa. He became disenchanted with the official aid system and concluded that in spite of rhetoric to the contrary, the US was actively promoting and deepening the financial and development problems of other countries for its own benefit.

He returned to US in 1992, co founded the Positive Futures Network, and works as an author and activist. His most famous book is When Corporations Rule the World, and he now travels the country giving talks related to his book, The Great Turning: From Empire to Earth Community.
